Report on encouraging purchase and use of electric motor vehicles
Within 18 months after October 24, 1992, the Secretary shall submit to the Congress a report on methods for encouraging the purchase and use of electric motor vehicles. Such report shall—
- (1)(b)(1)address the potential cost of purchasing and maintaining electric motor vehicles, including the initial cost of the batteries and the cost of replacement batteries;
- (2)(b)(2)identify methods for reducing, subsidizing, or sharing such costs; and
- (3)(b)(3)include recommendations for legislative and administrative measures to encourage the purchase and use of electric motor vehicles.
