5 U.S.C. § 4121. Specific training programs

In consultation with the Office of Personnel Management, the head of each agency shall establish—

  1. (1)
    (1)a comprehensive management succession program to provide training to employees to develop managers for the agency; and
  2. (2)
    (2)

    a program to provide training to managers on actions, options, and strategies a manager may use in—

    1. (A)
      (2)(A)relating to employees with unacceptable performance;
    2. (B)
      (2)(B)mentoring employees and improving employee performance and productivity; and
    3. (C)
      (2)(C)conducting employee performance appraisals.
